Martinis and Manhattans (and Rob Roys)

There are two basic cocktails a brother should know how to make without having to look up a recipe.
Naturally, these are the martini and the manhattan. Classic, old school cocktails with universal appeal. Even Grandma likes ‘em.
The Martini
Ingredients

3 oz quality gin
1 oz dry vermouth
handful of ice
Olives and/or cocktail onions skewered on a toothpick
Optional — Splash [...]

Breakfast! Berry Smoothie

Berry Smoothie
1 1/2 cup cups lowfat boysenberry yogurt
3/4 cup passion fruit sorbet
1 cup frozen boysenberries
1 cup frozen wild blueberries
Combine yogurt and sorbet in a blender. Add berries and process until smooth. Makes 2 (12 oz.) servings.

A great cocktail for summer! This comes to us courtesy of Jimmy Buffet’s Essential Book of Boat Drinks and Assorted Frozen Concoctions.
Cowboy in the Jungle
1 jigger Light Rum
1/2 jigger Frangelico
Juice of 1 Lime
1 t Grenadine
Fill shaker with crushed ice. Add ingredients. Shake and strain into cocktail glass.

Mint Julep

Ingredients

375 ml bottle of your favorite bourbon(Maker’s Mark for mixing. Knob Creek for drinkin’)
1 handful of of fresh mint leaves
2-3 sprigs of mint
2/3 cups sugar
1/3 cup water

Instructions
In a small sauce pan, bring sugar, water, and mint leaves up to a low boil, until sugar is completely dissolved.
