Monkey Bread Recipe

(A special guest recipe from Dawn Young)

Depending on the size of your bundt cake pan. (my pan only holds two cans of biscuits)

  • 1-3 cans of biscuits (I like the hungry jack kind)
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • Optional: raisons or nuts

*Please note that adjustments can be made to amounts of cinnamon, butter, and brown sugar to your tastes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray bundt cake pan with Pam or just grease thoroughly. (if you skip the grease panned part, you may have trouble getting out of your pan).

Combine white sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl or large ziplock bag.
Cut biscuits into quarters and dip into cinnamon sugar combination and layer in bundt cake pan. This is when you could layer in nuts or raisons.
When pan is full, melt butter and brown sugar over low heat. Do not let it boil, just heat enough to melt. Pour over biscuits and bake at 350 degress until top is brown. Takes about 30 minutes depending on oven, you may need to bake longer to ensure middle is cooked thoroughly. Let cake cool down and put on plate.

Left over cinnamon sugar combo: Great to save for toast in the morning, you may have to pick out a few bits of biscuits.

Just make some toast, add a little butter, and sprinkle over top.
