Christmas always makes me miss Hawai’i, and the sort of foods I crave at Christmas time usually reflect that. (If only I could find my old recipe for White Chocolate-Guava Cake…) Here’s an island-style alternative to turkey:

Two-Layer Caramel-Pecan Bars
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or stick margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Cooking spray
2 tablespoons fat-free milk
40 small soft caramel candies

Berry Smoothie
1 1/2 cup cups lowfat boysenberry yogurt
3/4 cup passion fruit sorbet
1 cup frozen boysenberries
1 cup frozen wild blueberries
Combine yogurt and sorbet in a blender. Add berries and process until smooth. Makes 2 (12 oz.) servings.
