Answering the call
The call came in late one slow weekend evening.
The phone rings.
“I bought this recipe book for pasta, but I don’t have all the ingredients for any one recipe.”
“Who buys a recipe book for pasta?” I think to myself.
Out loud, I say “I can help.”
Over the next few minutes I aided with the softening of sun dried tomatoes (place in water, 1 minute on high in the microwave) the cooking of pasta, toasting of pine nuts with olive oil.
Chopped sun dried tomatoes, shredded basil, garlic paste were added to the olive oil, and the whole mixture tossed with the pasta.
Salt and pepper were added.
This culinary tech-support crisis was averted. I said “goodnight” and enjoyed a martini.
